Position #1:
Intensive Instruction Teacher

ob Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Working collaboratively with parents and administration to create an individualized academic program and maintain a positive  learning environment specific and personalized to the student.
  • Using appropriate curriculum and differentiated strategies geared toward implementing individualized academic plan and meeting parent/teacher developed goals.
  • Providing accommodations and supports for student including toileting.
  • Conducting assessments and providing ongoing communication regarding student’s progress – academic and otherwise.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to assume a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crouching, sitting, standing) in the course of working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to assist students in the course of behavior management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in special education or minimum of (4) four years of experience teaching or providing care to students with special needs in an educational environment
  • Energetic, creative and willing to learn
  • Must have basic skills utilizing computers, internet and software.
  • Must have dependable transportation to be able to travel to and from different locations and sites in the greater Jacksonville area.
  • Must have clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a Level II Vechs background screening  
  • Must be willing to assist in other duties as assigned.

Position #2:
Individualized Instruction Teacher

 Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Working collaboratively with parents and administration to create an individualized academic program and maintain a positive  learning environment specific and personalized to the student.
  • Using appropriate curriculum and differentiated strategies geared toward implementing individualized academic plan and meeting parent/teacher developed goals.
  • Providing physical accommodations and supports for student confined to wheelchair including toileting and changing diapers.
  • Utilizing Pro-lo-quo and other alternative communication devices/programs/strategies
  • Conducting assessments and providing ongoing communication regarding student’s progress – academic and otherwise.
 ​Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to assume a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crouching, sitting, standing) in the course of working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to assist students in the course of behavior management.
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Special Education; degree or ongoing training in a related field is preferable
  • Energetic, creative, and willing to learn
  • Ability to assume all physical maneuvers common with working with individuals with limited mobility including toileting
  • Available to work 8:50am-2pm Monday-Friday
  • Must have dependable transportation to be able to travel to and from different locations and sites in the greater Jacksonville area.
  • Must have clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a Level II Vechs background screening  
  • Must be willing to assist in other duties as assigned.

 These positions are 10 month contract positions (1099).
